Glenn Schultz
1932 - October 23, 2010

From Jeff, KØRM, ARRL Colorado Section Manager:

It is with deep sadness that I report the passing of Glenn Schultz,
WØIJR. Glenn became a silent key on Saturday, October 23rd after a sudden illness.

Glenn was first licensed in 1952 and has served the Colorado Amateur Radio community for over 25 years as the co-founder of the Mile Hi VE Team and as a member of the ARRL Colorado Section cabinet. Countless hams have been licensed under his watchful eye and countless others have become better operators under his guidance. Glenn was especially fond of 6 meters-- where he met Karen, KAØCDN, his XYL of nearly 30 years. Glenn and Karen have together been a fixture within the Denver area Amateur Radio community since the mid 80's and Glenn's absence will be deeply felt. Our thoughts are with Karen and with Glenn's many friends at this difficult time.

Following Glenn's wishes, there will be no funeral. Letters of condolence can be sent to Karen at 15643 E 35th Pl, Aurora, CO 80011.

From Glenn's page on qrz.com:

First licensed in 1952. Currently OOC for Colorado along with wife Karen, KAØCDN. VE's since 1984, we manage the Mile HI VE Team and give exams monthly in the Denver area. We have a special interest in 6 meters. Listen for our beacon on 50.065. It has been operating unattended since January of 1983. I am retired from the Gates Rubber Company where I worked as a Sheet Metal Journeyman.

From Karen's page on qrz.com:

I was first licensed in 1978. I met my husband Glenn, WØIJR on 6 meters. We are OOC for Colorado. We also manage the Mile HI VE Team and have given exams monthly in Denver since 1984. Listen for our beacon on 50.065 where it has operated unattended since January of 1983. I am retired from Qwest Communications. My other hobbies are gardening and my cats.
